Our hand blended Authentic Chai Masala will allow you to experience the truly incredible flavors of real Indian street chai. Chai is a ubiquitous drink in India and is sweet and spicy with a subtle burn at the back of the throat. It is, in a word, incredible! The tea used in preparation must be carefully chosen as it needs to be strong to hold up to all the fresh spices in our Authentic Chai Masala blend. We recommend pairing with our Assam Chai Base black tea.

Ingredients: Tellicherry Black Pepper, Sarawak White Pepper, Ginger, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cloves, Grenada Nutmeg

Making Chai Easy and Tasty!

I like several things about this blend - it has just enough kick, is super easy to use, and is very flexible. I've used it to make a syrup similar to those you'd buy at the grocery store, but I get to control the sweetener. I can make a single cup of masala chai the long way with the boiling twice, or I can make a pot by adding it to my Assam in my Salton kettle and steeper (which I also got from The Spice and Tea Shoppe and LOVE), hitting the boiling level heat and creating a nice cuppa then topping off with almond milk and honey. Also, if you decide you want a little something extra (I add some chopped tumeric root and a bit of fresh ginger root) you can toss them in and customize a bit more. If you want to make a masala chai glaze for a cake - this is PERFECT to add to create the flavor (I admit to being too lazy to make the cinnamon roll recipe on the spice and tea shoppe site, but the glaze works just fine on a box cake!) If you can't tell, this chai masala is an absolute staple at my house.
