In earlier times, it was claimed that the secret of Golden Monkey tea was that it had to be plucked by the golden monkey which inhabited the forests of Fujian Province centuries ago. Today the plucking process is painstakingly labor intensive and yields a curly, tippy leaf of exceptional quality. A full bodied tea with a slightly sweet finish.

Steeping Instructions: 1-1.5 tsp, Boiling Water, 2-3 Minutes

This tea has a hint of a malty flavor without it being overpowering, very well rounded. It's quite yummy.

I'm a self proclaimed tea connoisseur/ snob and really picky and I was surprised how much I really liked this tea and that it exceeded my expectations. It's smooth, mellow, no astringency and slight natural sweetness like a hint of honey or maple.
