With hot, dry winds over semi-arid lands, Afghanistan's growing resembles that of Kashmir, recognized as the world's premier saffron region. Our Persian saffron has tested in accordance with ISO Standard 3632 at an outstanding rating of 236. For best flavor and color, lightly toast threads in a dry pan to release their oils and crush, with your fingers or a mortar and pestle, prior to use. When adding threads to dishes with very little liquid, soak first in lukewarm water and add at the end of cooking.
